Christine S. Long, Founder, Visionary, Trailblazer, Pastor, Teacher, Overseer, etc. (1985 - 2014)
After much prayer and fasting, "Mother Long" accepted the calling and mantle of Pastor with the primary focus on teaching, evangelizing and counseling. She was inspired by the Holy Spirit from Nehemiah 8:10 to "...to send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared..." Her humble submission to this inspiration gave birth to The Way of Life Ministries, Inc. in 1985.
Pastor Long continued to teach bible classes at the church's "Center for Biblical Instruction" at its Michigan Street location. As the Lord added to the church, again the attendees outgrew the building's capacity. In 1987, the Lord blessed Pastor Long and The Way of Life Ministries' Family with the purchase of its current place of worship on 638 N. Pine Hills Road. Since residing at this location, the church has completed renovations and purchased two additional buildings adjacent to the main sanctuary.
Pastor Long's heartfelt aspiration that "you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free," continue to resound loudly and clearly throughout the body of believers at The Way of Life Ministries, Inc. as her legacy continues...
Emeritus Pastor Robert E. Welch (2003-2020) & Emeritus Co-Pastor Dr. Jackie Welch (2016-2020)
Prior to her transitioning, Dr. C.S. Long appointed Robert E. Welch as Sr. Pastor of The Way of Life Ministries. Pastor Welch's quiet and humble spirit led the church through a season of grieving the loss of our beloved founder. " Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them,..." Joshua 1:2. He served faithfully for 17 years.
In 2016, Dr. Jackie Welch was appointed as the Co-Pastor of The Way of Life Ministeries and served with her husband until they both retired.
Dr. Jo Ann Jameson, Pastor 2020 - present
During the time when many church doors were closing due the coronavirus, Dr. Jo Ann Jameson accepted the mantle of Pastor of The Way of Life Ministries. Humbly, and yet courageously operating under the leading of the Holy Spirit, she ensured that fellowship among the church family remained consistent by ministering via Online/Phone: Sunday Services, Bible Studies and Intercessory Prayer. Dr. Jameson orchestrated the safe return to the sanctuary. She continues to develop the body of believers' Faith and growth through the teaching and preaching of the unadulterated Word of God.
